You’re trapped between adolescence and adulthood and all of your friends’ grandparents are either dead or senile enough to make their grandchildren sad and angry and, shortly, extremely sensible about grandparenthood and old age and ACVs and Cancer and now your grandmother whom you don’t speak to since you were like eight years old and you were still reading Harry Potter books might die and maybe you don’t care enough for being so sad but you maybe just want to have a conversation about it with someone of trust but all of your friends’ grandparents have died in emotionally and ecocomically stressful situations that left their surviving relatives so sad that now they can’t stop posting old family pictures in social media no matter the ocasion: birthdays, anniversaries, holidays… and so you now they can’t seem to get over with the fact that old people die sooner than young people sometimes and diseases are ugly and health insurances sucks in a lot of countries and particulary in the one you and your grandparents had the missfortune to have been born into specially because as we all your acquaintances in various social media know, you had a awesome dead relative, it was like your second parent and dead is so unfair and God is not so cool as they taught you in Sunday School and good people shouldn’t be allowed to stop existing because of that and family structure is so fucked up ain’t it, because grandparents are so great but also tend to be the oldest relatives and God gives us a really short time to get to know them and please president please governors help our grandparents, help our abuelitxs, our retired old people who lead and awful life because they have no money and Bad People steals the little money they got and then when they need medical assistance they are mistreated and their family tends to dissapear oh god so so awful, the life of those who live past the age of 55/60.
